Ninety nine point nine percent

Got myself in a deep discussion with some of my colleagues and you know how accurate we can get in most things in life?

That's right! 99.9%. They even say God couldn't get it 100% as evidenced by each of us looking in the mirror everyday and thinking to ourselves "I'm so fat" or "why can't I be a little taller" or "wish I was more attractive"

To get a better perspective of things, we are 99% similar genetic composition to the apes and 99.9% between any of you and me (racists and color conscious people please note). They say 99.9% is the industry standard for highest accuracy and quality, leaving an error rate of just 0.1%. That is the target most quality control teams keep as ideal or goals.

And this 0.1% error translates into the following:

-12 plane crashes per day around the world
-16000 lost mails per hour
-12 newborn babies would be given to wrong parents every day
-3200 babies dropped during delivery per day
-20,000 wrong surgeries per day
-1,000,000 wrong prescriptions resulting in serious reactions per year
-48,000 books would be shipped with the wrong cover per week
